Day 1Transfer from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early breakfast at 8:00 am, we will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. We will make a stopover at the equator to take some photographs and again in Mbarara for lunch at the Oxford Inn. From here, we will continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park viewing the beautiful scenery, tea plantations, open grasslands, long-horned Ankole cattle, and the Rift Valley escarpment. We then have an evening game drive as we head to our accommodation.

Day 2Game drive, boat cruise and transfer to Fort Portal then to Kibale National Park

Start the day early with a cup of tea or coffee before a game drive along Queen’s Mile and the Kasenyi trail. On this 2-hour drive, we will see elephants, hippopotamus, kobs, and warthogs among others. We will then head for lunch. Later in the afternoon, we will enjoy a 2-hour boat ride on the Kazinga Channel where we will encounter buffaloes, herds of elephants,
hippopotamus, and lots of waterbirds like the African skimmer, water thick-knee, African spoonbill, Egyptian goose, African fish eagle, white-winged tern, great and long-tailed cormorant, saddle-billed stork, and many others.

Day 3Chimpanzee tracking and visit Bigodi Swamp

After our breakfast at 7:30 am, we will head to Kibale Forest which is the best place to see wild, habituated chimpanzees, the closest primate to human beings. We will come across red colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and others. While chimpanzee tracking, we will also see birds such as Narina trogon, white-bellied crested-flycatcher, purple-breasted sunbird, collared apalis, and blue-headed sunbird to mention but a few.

After the chimpanzee tracking, we will have lunch at Rweteera Safari park as we view giant kingfishers on the lake near the park. Later in the evening, we will do birding at the Bigodi Wetland sanctuary which is home to 138 bird species that may be seen during the guided walk.

Day 4Transfer from Kibale National Park to the airport or Kampala

After breakfast, with wonderful memories of the previous days, we will proceed to Kampala. Here, we will relax and wait for the journey back to Entebbe.
