This safari will take you to Uganda’s largest park, Murchison Falls National Park. It has savannah grasslands and the Victoria Nile that flows through it, separating it into two banks. The park is also home to over 451 bird species including the great blue turaco, goliath heron, shoebill, and dwarf kingfisher, and 76 mammal species. The magnificent and thunderous Murchison Falls squeezes its way through a gorge that is 8m wide. Explore this fantastic park on game drives and a boat safari.

Day 1Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After an early breakfast, you will start your journey to Murchison Falls National Park (this is quite a long distance). This park is famously known for having the most powerful waterfall in the world. This is where the longest river in the world squeezes through a 7-meter gap and then drops down 45 meters. The park is home to a lot of wildlife like giraffes, hippos, elephants, and many others. On this day, there won’t be any activities since it’s a long drive.

Day 2Boat Safari and Game Safaris

Very early in the morning, you go for a game safari. You will see a lot of wildlife like elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, bushbucks, Jackson’s hartebeests, oribis, waterbucks and warthogs, to mention but a few. After the game safari, return to the hotel, and have something to eat while getting ready for an afternoon boat safari. This safari gives you an opportunity to see water-associated birds like the shoebill stork, goliath heron, grey-crowned crane, Abyssinian ground hornbill, black-headed lapwing, and Senegal thick-knee.

Day 3Waterfalls Hike and Drive Back to Kampala

You will be transferred to the waterfalls after breakfast, do a short hike and see how the water flows. Thereafter, you start your journey back to Kampala with an en-route lunch.
